Autodesk Impression

Impress your colleagues and clients with compelling presentation-ready graphics created directly from your DWG™ and DWF™ files. Autodesk® Impression software is easy to use, saves you time, and recognizes data from your CAD files.

Autodesk Impression is available to AutoCAD®, AutoCAD®Architecture, AutoCAD® Civil 3D, AutoCAD® Map 3D, AutoCAD® MEP, AutoCAD® Revit® Architecture Suite, AutoCAD® Revit® MEP Suite, AutoCAD® Revit® Structure Suite, Revit® Architecture, Revit® MEP, and Revit® Structure software products’ subscription customers.

Features

CAD Compatible
Not only can you open any DWG™ or DWF™ file in Autodesk® Impression, but Impression understands your CAD data such as blocks, layers, and hatches.

Familiar User Interface and Toolbar
If you’re already accustomed to working with Autodesk products, you’ll be familiar with the layers palette and the toolbar. The tools are streamlined and straightforward so your workspace is uncluttered, which allows you to get up to speed quickly.

Prebuilt Styles and Blocks
Easily add styles and content to quickly create presentation graphics from your CAD files. Prebuilt styles include colored pencils, markers, and watercolor washes. And, with the included block libraries, you can add entourage such as cars, trees, and people.

Custom Styles
Customize Impression styles in your own distinctly individual style in an almost infinite number of ways.

Saved Style Libraries
Share your custom style libraries with colleagues and create sets of drawings that all have the same look and feel.

Block Substitution
Impression takes full advantage of DWG blocks so you can quickly replace DWG block references with stylized blocks created in Impression.

CAD Update
Easily update your rendered image by importing your revised CAD geometry to your Impression image.

Share Your Work
Impression illustrations can be saved as DWF files, viewable with Autodesk® Design Review and the Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer. They can also be saved into several file formats popular in the desktop publishing world, including PSD, EPS, PDF, and a variety of popular image file formats such as PNG, JPG, and BMP.
Impression illustrations can be printed on all page sizes supported by standard plotters up to E-size sheets, with resolutions up to 300 dpi.

Built-in Learning Resources
Use the Jump Start Tour to help you understand the basic concepts used in creating a rendered image in Impression, with easy-to-follow step-by-step exercises and informational videos. For a more in-depth introduction to the application, a Quick Start Guide is located in the Help drop-down menu.
